Superintendent – Ground-Up Commercial Construction

Location: Houston, TX

A well-established Commercial General Contractor based in Houston is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead field operations on ground-up construction projects across the municipal, K-12, government, and community sectors. This firm has a strong reputation for delivering high-quality public projects across Texas and is looking for a reliable field leader to join their growing team.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee all day-to-day job site activities and ensure construction progresses on schedule and within budget
• Manage all subcontractors, vendors, and field staff on-site
• Develop and maintain detailed project schedules in collaboration with the project team
• Conduct regular safety meetings and enforce site safety standards
• Ensure work is performed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and code requirements
• Maintain accurate daily reports, field documentation, and project logs
• Coordinate inspections and resolve any issues with local authorities or third parties
• Communicate effectively with Project Managers, Owners, Architects, and Engineers
• Support the planning and implementation of site logistics and material deliveries
• Identify potential issues early and implement proactive solutions to keep the project on track

Requirements:

• Minimum 8 years of Superintendent experience on ground-up commercial projects
• Prior experience working on municipal, K-12, government, or public-sector projects is essential
• Strong tenures with previous employers—demonstrated project stability and leadership
• Thorough understanding of construction processes, scheduling, safety protocols, and quality control
• Ability to interpret construction documents and plans
• Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills
• Proficiency in construction scheduling and reporting tools (Procore, MS Project, etc.) is a plus
