United Talent is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill a GIS Technician I position in the Parkersburg area as a contractor for Hope Gas. All qualified candidates must possess applicable educational and/or professional experience in geographic information systems. This is a contract position that offers a slow but steady work environment. This is an on-site position, with no relocation assistance available.

Responsibility:

• Working in ESRI system
• Research historical records to organize / manage / and digitize
• Map historical pipeline facilities
• Maintain affected compliance systems
• Create area specific maps for stakeholders
• Locate and specify future construction areas in the GIS
• Update service line information in SAP program
• Update land-base features in GIS
• System record analysis to validate MAOP (Maximum Allowable Operating Pressure)
• Provide customer services associated to our GIS and the information held within
• Other duties as assigned

Qualification/s:

• Fluent computer skills and proficient working with various applications
• Interpersonal and teamwork oriented
• Problem solving and ability to address multiple tasks simultaneously
• Ability to handle changing environments and emerging priorities
• Verbal and written communication skills
• Analytical and detail oriented
• Familiarity with natural gas pipeline systems a plus but not required

Educational Focus:

1-3 yrs GIS Experience Preferred

GIS, Geography, Geology, Anthropology

Job Types: Contract, Full-time

Pay: $25.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift 7:30-4:00pm
• Overtime

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Parkersburg, WV: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Education:

• Associate (Required)

Experience:

• ArcGIS: 1 year (Preferred)
