Are you a tech savvy person who loves to fit together all the puzzle pieces of an HRIS, multi state payroll taxes, union requirements, and reporting to create a seamless and modern compensation experience for all levels of the organization?

Taikisha USA is an engineering and construction firm with locations in Michigan and Ohio, as well as temporary project sites across the United States. Our team is looking for a Payroll Specialist to handle all aspects payroll for up to 250 employees.

This role requires:

  • Experience with multi state and union payroll
  • Strong technical skills to maintain and troubleshoot HRIS, ADP Workforce Now experience preferred
  • Proven ability to organise and prioritise effectively to complete tasks on time, accurately, and completely.
  • A Proactive approach to problem solving
  • Ability to clearly express ideas with professionalism and respect both verbally and in writing.
  • The highest level of confidentiality

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll, wage and hour laws, taxes and best practices
  • Review new hire paperwork and change requests from job sites for completeness and accuracy.
  • Update and maintain accurate employee information in HRIS to ensure all hires, changes, and separations are processed accurately and promptly.
  • Audit information from sites to prepare, process, and reconcile payrolls for accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot technical aspects of HRIS system.
  • Prepare monthly union reports, 401(k) contributions, payroll job costing, and build other custom reports as needed.
  • Reconcile quarterly tax reports as prepared by third party payroll provider.
  • Maintain employee files.
  • Process benefit changes, including enrolments, terminations, and monthly invoice reconciliation.
  • Resolve questions from Associates regarding payroll and benefits.
  • Respond to Verification of Employment requests
  • Train new job site administrators in the on boarding process and to use the HRIS for timekeeping.
